Donald Bond

Donald Bond is our Rolex Specialist & Watch Director of The Houston Gold Exchange-Westheimer since 2009. Donald started in the jewelry business while in college with Corrigan’s in Baytown, Texas where he was under the direction of his District Manager, Brad Schweiss the owner of The Houston Gold Exchange. A year later, Donald made a career change and became the youngest Assistant Manager of the Zales Diamond Store in Baytown at the age of 21. As another promotion was looming over the horizon, Mr. Bond decided to accept an offer from his father to join the family health food business which still thrives today.

Donald’s knowledge of Rolex watches started when he was just 19 years old. As 20 years passed in the health industry, he moved onto to managing another family business in print/design/photography & web design. His marketing skills were perfected along side his late father, Howard Bond who was very well known in the health industry around the world.

To further his skills in design, Donald moved to California is the early 2000’s to pursue a career with one of the largest civil engineering firms in the Central Coast. His designs skills, along with his knowledge for research propelled him in a very short amount of time. At the end of 2006 he decided to move back to the Houston area. He continued to work in California by commuting back and forth. During that time a new design company was formed along side the engineering firm. Donald built a large clientele across the nation including The Houston Gold Exchange.

In June of 2009, Mr. Schweiss asked Mr. Bond to join the HGE Team. At first it was to handle all online media, marketing and advertising along with the photography. With his love for watches, Donald has taken to the Rolexes quite easily. Remembering his days with Corrigan’s and his thirst for history it was a marriage made in heaven. Donald became The Houston Gold Exchange’s Rolex Specialist in short order.

He handles all Rolex buys and sales till this day. Donald also over sees restorations on vintage Rolexes, Patek Philippe, Omega's and others. His own watch collection is quite impressive but rarely seen. He still has his first watch a small gold tone Timex as a child, his father’s 1955 Hamilton he received as a high school graduation gift and lets not forget a rare 18K Tiffany & Co. his grandfather wore before his passing, still on its original leather strap along with the original Tiffany & Co. box. Of course a Rolex on his wrist for a daily wearer. As you can tell, history is important to him.

This knowledge has not only helped Donald identify any Rolex, he is well-known in the Houston area as well as New York City circles as an avid Rolex historian. Donald is our “Rolex Rockstar”. With his rocker-style, outgoing personality and knowledge of ‘the keeper of time’. You are in good hands. 

At times he receives what seems an impossible request for a particular watch. Donald comes through. From a vintage piece to a custom piece. Donald can even design you, your own custom Rolex. He thrives on perfection. Donald holds several awards in design in print, web design and photography. He happens to be the designer behind our web site and the photography of all products.  He comes from a media family background that covers print, radio and television. He is a recent graduate of Gemvision Matrix 6.0. Mr. Bond is in the process of designing a new watch line for The Houston Gold Exchange.

Donald is single and has two teenage sons, Chandler (16) and Austin (18). Following in their father's foot steps, both have become avid watch collectors.
